Marriage Preparation
Couples planning to be married in the Catholic Church are required to attend a Marriage Preparation Course sponsored by a Catholic Church. St. John Bosco Parish offers a 2-day course at our parish Centre which runs on a Friday night (6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) and all day Saturday (starting at 8:00 a.m. and closing with Mass at 5:15 p.m.). The cost per couple is $100.00 which covers all workbooks, handouts, supplies, food, refreshments and a certificate upon completion.
Through presentations, group discussions and personal reflection, our goal is to provide couples with a meaningful vision of Christian marriage. Couples explore many topics of interest to further help determine their basic readiness to accept the responsibilities of marriage.
Topics covered include:
- Readiness
- A Decision to Love
- Finances
- Communication
- Parenting
- Sacrament of Marriage
- Natural Family Planning/Sexuality
- Separate Pasts & Personalities
- Spirituality
- Liturgy of Marriage
Our highly enthusiastic marriage prep team comes from a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences regarding marriage, family, children, careers, work and church. We look forward to making this an interesting, insightful and memorable course!
Our most recent Marriage Preparation Course was offered on:
